Sean Penn set the media straight about his relationship with Charlize Theron. During a recent interview with Le Parisien, the reporter made the mistake of asking Penn about his ‘girlfriend,’ Charlize Theron.
“No, no, excuse me, Charlize is not my girlfriend,” Penn interjected. “She’s the love of my life.”
Sean Penn and Charlize Theron attended the César Awards, France’s version of the Oscars, on Friday. Penn was lauded with a standing ovation when he received an honorary award. The couple was stunning–Sean Penn in a black suit with white shirt and black tie–and the love of his life in a red dress, topped with a black jacket and accessorized with a black patent leather bag and heels.

Sean Penn was previously married to both Madonna and to Robin Wright. When he and Theron–who broke up with boyfriend Stuart Townshend back in 2009–both found themselves single, they struck up a relationship and have been a couple for about a year.
Rumors about wedding plans are running rampant, but for the moment the couple is in Europe enjoying some romance mixed with a bit of business, too.
Sean Penn is headed back to the big screen next month in a film called The Gunman. It opens in theaters on March 20th.
