Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn, daughters of famous producers Steven Spielberg and John Goldwyn, are now in the movie business!
Well, kind of. The pair have debuted their series for mobile social platform Snapchat called Literally Can’t Even on Saturday.
The show will be on the mobile app’s Discover channel every Saturday. The channel also features media partners CNN, Daily Mail, ESPN and Yahoo News, among others.
Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn are allowing Snapchat users into their lives in hectic Los Angeles.
Sasha Spielberg just got out of a long-term relationship and Emily Goldwyn is embarking on a six month cleanse.
Goldwyn said they hope to make their audience feel like they are being dropped into the girls’ lives for a few minutes each week. She said, “These are snapshots of our life, which is perfect for Snapchat. It feels perfect for the generation that we’re writing for.”
Snapchat sets itself apart from other social media platforms with this latest move. User generated content is great, but Snapchat media production director Rylee Ebsen explained that they wanted in on the action, too.
“Snapchatters consume and create and we’ve always embraced that,” explains Ebsen, who is also the Literally Can’t Even series director. “When it came to Discover, we wanted to have a seat at the table. It felt weird to not have our own voice as well.”
In true Snapchat form, Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn will only have a few minutes to let viewers into their world, and the videos will disappear in 24 hours.
Sasha Spielberg isn’t worried about that.
“It provides a clean slate each week,” she says.
