Actress Sarah Hyland is best known for her role as Haley on the television show Modern Family. Hyland is use to being recognized and even bombarded by fans, but while attending a party hosted by Qantas airlines in Sydney, Australia, the 23 year old star was allegedly groped by a fan.

According to reports, the fan grabbed Hyland’s breast and she screamed “Don’t touch me there!” and burst into tears. She left the party early and tweeted an apology and explanation to fans.

A 29 year old man whose name has not been released, has been charged with assault with an act of indecency. He was released on bail and will have to appear in court in March.

Hyland’s boyfriend also tweeted about the incident and expressed his anger. His tweet was directed at the man who groped Hyland.

Hyland and the cast of Modern Family are in Australia shooting a holiday episode. They will be shooting more episodes in other locations next week.

Hyland’s costars were upset about the incident as well and several of them said that they did not feel like filming the next day. Filming did continue however, and afterwards the cast enjoyed some fun activities that would help them take their minds of the incident.

Hyland has not released a statement regarding the incident other than her tweet to fans.
