The “Sandra Dee” song sung by Vanessa Hudgens during Sunday night’s performance of Grease: Live! has won Hudgens accolades from all over the country.
“Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee” was performed in the 1978 film classic by actress Stockard Channing. Vanessa Hudgens performed the song very much the same way in her role as Rizzo.
The real Sandra Dee was an American actress whose claim to fame came in the 1950s, rendering her a teen queen of that era.
Vanessa Hudgens has received even more accolades from fans for going on with her performance in Grease: Live! following the passing of her father, Greg Hudgens, from cancer on Saturday–just 24 hours before she was scheduled to go on the air.
The actress said she was dedicating her performance to her late father–and she especially did him proud with her rendition of “Look at Me, I’m Sandra Dee.”
I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer. Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers.
