Sandra Bullock and her 3 year-old son Louis stepped out in similarly-themed costumes to attend a Los Angeles Halloween party on Saturday. Mother and son were both dressed as skeletons, but the costumes had decidedly different styles.

Bullock was outfitted in a long white gown with a black lace overlay. Her face was painted white, black, and red in a stye that evoked a slightly Day of the Dead vibe. Louis’ costume was a simple black and white number with detachable wings.

This isn’t the first time Bullock and her son have dressed up in matching costumes. Last year, they went trick or treating outfitted as Toy Story characters Jessie and Buzz Lightyear.

Louis Bardo Bullock was born in January, 2010 in New Orleans and Bullock adopted him shortly thereafter.

Around that same time, Bullock filed for divorce from her husband Jesse James. The couple had been married since 2005.

Bullock and Louis recently made headlines when it was revealed that the boy liked to pal around with Bullock’s Gravity co-star George Clooney. At a press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival in September Bullock confirmed that her son and Clooney had bonded during the filming of Gravity.

Gravity premiered in North America at the Telluride Film Festival in August and received a wide release in the US and Canada on October 4. It was number one at the box office this weekend, holding the spot for a second week in a row and outperforming Carrie, a much-anticipated remake of the classic horror movie.

Critics loved Bullock’s performance in Gravity and are already speculating that she’ll receive an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. It would be the second such honor for Bullock, who won the coveted award for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Toughy in 2009’s The Blind Side.
