Rory Feek has been the very model of loyalty, strength, and pure love amid his painful journey of watching his beloved wife gradually succumb to cancer. Now that Joey Feek has finally left the world, her husband is trying his best to honor her memory and stay strong for their young daughter, Indiana.

After a long and public battle with cervical cancer, which Rory Feek chronicled in his personal blog This Life I Live, Joey Feek decided to “stop fighting” and went into a deep slumber after saying her final farewells to family and friends. In the wake of her death on March 4^th, he faces the heart-wrenching task of laying his wife of 14 years to rest.

Through social media, Rory Feek shared Joey’s final requests with their fans and followers. Two days after her passing, Rory shared a photo of their family’s Tennessee farm on Instagram, with the caption: “…making plans that I hoped we would never have to make.” It is also revealed that Joey wished for her remains to be placed in a “rough-cut wooden box with a cross on it” that was fashioned using “wood at the farm.”

To help himself deal with the painful loss of his wife, Rory Feek has been posting beautiful, solemn photos of the ranch’s landscape as well as moments with their two-year-old daughter.

The official obituary for the late country singer has been made public, so people could know more about the fulfilling, albeit short life she had. It tells the story of her life, including her love of horses and her dream of being a country singer like her idol, Dolly Parton.
