Since then he has worked tirelessly to put together the plans Joey Feek discussed with him in her final days.
On Sunday, Rory Feek shared a photo of his farm on Instagram, that shows the small cemetery on his property. That’s where Joey wanted him to bury her when she “went home” to Heaven.
“…making plans that I hoped we would never have to make,” Rory captioned the photo.
It was back in November that Rory Feek wrote about what Joey told him regarding her wishes, on his blog, This Life I Live.
Joey Feek wanted a “rough-cut wooden box with a cross on it” made from “wood at the farm.”
“And find a good spot in the family cemetery in the field behind our house, where we put your mama’s ashes last year,” Rory said Joey told him. “[Leave] room enough beside my headstone for you to join me someday… in God’s time.”
The Joey + Rory singer made her husband take notes regarding her wishes, about everything from her funeral plans to which flowers to plant in their gardens in the spring.
Rory Feek broke his silence on social media on Saturday, when he and Indy arrived at their Tennessee farm.
“Home,” he captioned the photo.
Joey Feek’s obituary is poignant, and makes fans wonder if she had a hand in writing that, too.
