Ron Perlman the famous Hellboy star has more on his plate than acting obligations. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the talented actor has recently signed on to host the SAG Foundation’s “Actors Fore Actors” New York Golf Classic. The event will take place on Monday, October 7th. The location is set for the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester where multiple celebrities have already announced their involvement in the fundraiser. Alysia Reiner, Kyle MacLachlan, Dan Lauria, Peter Gallagher, and Richard Kind will also be present.

Ron Perlman sounded supportive of the non-profit Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Foundation, and enthusiastic to have the opportunity to be affiliated with such an organization.

“The SAG Foundation is a phenomenal organization that helps my fellow union brothers and sisters in times of emergency. I’m looking forward to hosting the first New York Golf Classic so that the SAG Foundation can continue to make a difference by responding swiftly when crises arise,” Ron Perlman said.

Proceeds from the golfing event will be divvied to the various initiatives sponsored by SAG Foundation’s Catastrophic Health Fund and Assistance programs. In order to announce the news, the SAG Foundation posted information through Twitter.

The SAG Foundation’s president, JoBeth Williams, spoke about her excitement for the venue’s location. “We are thrilled to be hosting our first major fundraiser in the New York, and we are looking forward to raising the profile of one of the best-kept secrets in town,” JoBeth said.

This is not the first time Ron Perlman has dedicated his time to advance the philanthropic efforts of the SAG Foundation. Ron participated in a public service announcement to provide assistance to the communities devastated by the storm, Sandy. He participated in promoting the formation of “Superstorm Sandy Emergency Assistance Fund” that brought together the SAG Foundation and AFTRA Foundation in order to form The Motion Picture Players Welfare Fund (MPPWF). Through these efforts more than $135,000 was raised for SAG-AFTRA members who suffered from the storm.
