Ron Paul announced today that he will no longer campaign in new states, but is still trying to win delegates in the state convention process.
In a statement released on his official website, Paul says he is proud of the work his team has done up to this point and that they will not stop until they “have restored what once made America the greatest country in human history.” But he doesn’t want to continue to spend resources on campaigning in new territories that haven’t voted.
“Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have,” Paul says in the statement. “I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.”
Those following Paul’s campaign trail–for good or for bad–had a lot to say about his announcement today on Twitter:
http://t.co/23HtMr0y – Ron Paul carries the message. Keep it going.
For people supporting Ron Paul, it’s not the end, just the beginning. No reason for Ron Paul to go into debt in order to campaign in states that haven’t voted yet since he has little chance of winning.
