On Friday, Robin Thicke performed in front of a packed house at Madison Square Garden. In between songs, Thicke could be heard referencing his wife Paula Patton, who he announced his separation from in February.
Actually, if you have been to any of the Blurred Lines singer’s latest concerts, you probably heard Patton’s name mentioned in one fashion or another.
“We gotta learn to forgive each other, you know, learn to love each other, no matter who it is in your family or relationship,” Thicke told the crowd. “Hold on tight to the one you love.”
Thicke and Patton were high school sweethearts and were married for eight years before announcing their separation on February 24. They also have a three-year-old son together named Julian. While the couple are still remaining apart, Thicke vows that he will win his woman back.
“Never stop believing and you never stop loving,” Thicke said, during his March 2 performance in Atlantic City. “And even if it is over, make sure you treat each other right. Treat your family right. Take care of your mom, take care of your kids and good things will come to you. Just keep believing that God is good. That’s what gets me by. Sometimes when I get a little scared or worried about the future, I just try to stay positive and do my part to spread love and spread joy.”
Several days earlier, while performing at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia, Robin also discussed his relationship with the his fans. “For y’all that don’t know, me and my wife separated but I’m trying to get my girl back. She’s a good woman,” Thicke explained. “I’m going to need you guys to help me through this.”
