New York Jets coach Rex Ryan has graced the cover of New York’s Daily News, thanks to a shot taken by one of the publication’s photographers, showing him sunbathing. While that by itself may have been enough to make headlines for some of the Jets “news” peddlers of the media world, the real “story” here is that Ryan was spotted with a tattoo on his arm, apparently featuring his wife in a Mark Sanchez jersey. Oh yeah, and she might be “Tebowing” (albeit, not very well).

I probably don’t have to tell you about the QB controversy that has plagued the team (or at least reports about the team), particularly since the arrival of Tim Tebow ahead of this past season. Now, everyone’s talking about what this means about Ryan’s “loyalty” to Sanchez. For example, the big headline on the Daily News site itself says, “No wonder Tim Tebow barely played!”

Right.

Some are not even convinced that it’s necessarily a real tattoo. It may or may not be, but it seems highly unlikely that Ryan is basing decisions that could affect his own job on his ink.

Still, if you ask me, I think he should have gone with an Antonio Cromartie jersey.
