What is it with rappers proclaiming themselves to be gods these days? Just a few months after Kanye West uploaded his “I Am A God” song to YouTube, Eminem released his new song, “Rap God.” The song gets the name from one of the lines in the song that says, “I’m beginning to feel like a rap god.”
Eminem fans are going nuts over the song, which is six minutes long and features the rapper spitting out words ridiculously fast. The often controversial rapper managed to get in lyrics about violence and sex, while insulting women and gay people all in the same song. “Rap God” is the second song released from Eminem’s upcoming album, “MMLP2” (for Marshall Mathers LP 2), which comes out November 5.
Check out Eminem’s “Rap God” below, but be warned–the language is explicit. That should go without saying, but make sure you don’t have the speakers blaring if you’re at work. If you can’t understand the lyrics, follow along with the lyrics Rap Genius put up.

While many have praised Eminem for his new song (and by “many,” we mean nearly everyone), some folks have pointed out that the song has a homophobic element to it.
At one point in the song, Eminem talks about breaking a break a “motherf—– table over the back of a couple f—– and crack it in half.” In another verse, Eminem says, “Little gay-looking boy / So gay I can barely say it with a straight face-looking boy / You witnessing massacre like you watching a church gathering taking place-looking boy / ‘Oy vey, that boy’s gay,’ that’s all they say looking-boy / You take a thumbs up, pat on the back, the way you go from your label every day-looking boy.”
The anti-gay element isn’t surprising, as Eminem’s songs have certainly contained lyrics of this type in the past, but some are surprised that more people aren’t pointing this out. That could be because of the light speed pace at which he delivers the lyrics.
