Randy Orton has reportedly been scheduled to make a return to the ring on December 29 after taking some time off to film The Condemned 2.
The WWE star was scheduled to return in November, but wrestler Sting took his palace instead. According to the WWE site, Orton will return to Monday Night Raw at the end of the month with John Cena, Big Show, Brock Lesnar, and Seth Rollins.
There has been some speculation that Orton will actually be seen first at the Pay-Per-View match next weekend, but nothing has been officially announced.
“With the recent decline in ratings as well as horrible booked shows, the one thing that WWE can do is put together some angles that last longer than a few weeks. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton have been building a feud for months and the devolution of their partnership has led to what will be a great rivalry in the WWE universe,” wrote blogger Derek Ferreira.
The Condemned 2 began filming in November; according to a synopsis at Variety, the film “follows a former bounty hunter who finds himself on the run as part of a revamped Condemned tournament, in which convicts are forced to fight each other to the death as part of a game that’s broadcast to the public.”
