Rachel Weisz has been busy lately.

In the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, Rachel Weisz has, not one, but two movies contending for the Cannes’ coveted Palme d’Or top prize.

Rachel Weisz will be representing the Italian-directed La Giovinezza.

Besides boasting of having Rachel Weisz in the cast, La Giovinezza also features heavy-hitters Michael Caine and Jane Fonda.

Rachel Weisz also has Greece’s The Lobster at Cannes, which also stars Colin Farrell.

Along with Rachel Weisz, Cate Blanchett also has a movie in the Cannes Film Festival. Blanchett appears in Carol with Rooney Mara.

Carol is a lesbian love story set in 1950’s New York, which is based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel.

Matthew McConaughey stars in the American film contender, The Sea of Trees, which also stars Naomi Watts.

Other competitors at the Cannes Film Festival include a few Asian selections, like The Assassin from Taiwan, Umimachi Diary from Japan, Mountains May Depart from China, and a version of Macbeth from Australia, which stars Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

Although Rachel Weisz has been very busy, she isn’t ready to take a break just yet.

Rachel Weisz is getting ready to film director James Marsh’s untitled Donald Crowhurst biopic.

The biopic will also star Colin Firth and is based on the true story of amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst and his attempt to win the first round of the World Yacht Race in 1968.

The film, starring Rachel Weisz and Colin Firth, will be produced by Blueprint Pictures’ Pete Czernin and Graham Broadbent.

This partnership is, so far, best known for hits The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its sequel The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Are you excited to see whether or not one of Rachel Weisz’s movies will be a winner in the upcoming Cannes Film Festival?
