The best part about the holidays for gamers is the ridiculous amount of sales that take place between Black Friday and Christmas day. While Black Friday has already come and gone, we’re now in the second phase of the holiday sales season and Sony is already heavily discounting some of the year’s best games.

In a post on the PlayStation blog today, Sony announced that Tuesday will mark the beginning of the PlayStation Store Holiday Sale. As always, a select number of games will be heavily discounted with PlayStation Plus members receiving further discounts.

For the first week, Sony has some of 2013’s best games on sale with Remember Me, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn all available at ridiculously low prices. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is of particular interest as players who own the PS3 version will be able to upgrade to the PS4 version at no extra cost.

Here’s the full list of discounted games for the first week of the PS Store Holiday Sale:

If you happen to be a PlayStation Plus member, you’ll also be getting a free game tomorrow in the form of GRID 2 for the PS3. The street racing game from Codemasters’ racing studio features hundreds of cars, great presentation, and gameplay that appeals to arcade racing and simulation fans alike.

Sony says that there will be a second week of holiday sales starting December 10. While we don’t know what will be on sale, this first week is a pretty good indicator that we’ll be seeing plenty good deals from PlayStation throughout the holidays. Here’s hoping Microsoft has something similar planned for its Xbox 360 digital games store.
