What a fantastic world we live in.

Unhappy that a government construction project has caused damage to his sprawling estate, music producer-turned-convicted murderer Phil Spector filed a lawsuit from the cozy confines of his prison cell. The suit, which is aimed at the City of Alhambra, claims workers caused significant property damage to his home.

The project, which is taking place on the same hill where his house resides, has resulted in large cracks in one of the retaining walls, a problem he wants Alhambra to correct as soon as possible. Specifically, the lawsuit states that the couple’s home has been “destabilized and damaged by deep-seated landsliding” caused by the project. The house, which was built in 1926, was purchase by Spector in 1998.

As you may recall, Phil Spector was convicted in 2009 of fatally shooting actress Lana Clarkson in the same Grand View Drive residence where his current wife still lives. Feel free to blurt out “creepy” to nobody in particular, because that’s beyond strange. Before venturing off into the world of convicted felons, Spector was responsible for developing the music production technique called “Wall of Sound”. He also produced such musical acts as The Ronettes, Leonard Cohen. and Ike and Tina Turner. Additionally, Spector was also brought in to salvage “Let it Be” by The Beatles, an album that was essentially abandoned by the band.

As of this writing, the city has yet to respond to the allegations.
