Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the hit A&E show Duck Dynasty, is no longer under suspension by the network. A&E lifted the suspension this week and Robertson will continue appearing on the show with the rest of his family, despite the recent homophobic remarks he made. The network made the announcement on Friday despite the protests of many of the show's fans.

Phil Robertson's remarks to GQ magazine sparked a debate that spanned the nation over tolerance and religion.

"As a global media content company, A&E Networks' core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect," a statement from A&E reads. "We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into people's homes and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principles. While Phil's comments made in the (GQ) interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the ‘coarse language’ he used and the misinterpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would ‘never incite or encourage hate.’"

Do you think A&E has made a big mistake? Even NBC's The TODAY Show appears to question Friday's decision.

The family issued to statement to, saying they are "excited to keep making a quality TV show for our dedicated fans, who have showed us wonderful support. We will continue to represent our faith and values in the most positive way through 'Duck Dynasty' and our many projects that we are currently working on.The outpouring of support and prayer has encouraged and emboldened us greatly."

The new season of Duck Dynasty will premiere on January 15th.
