Pauly D Lawsuit Discloses His Ample Salary

  • If you’re not a big reality television person, you might still know Pauly D if only for his “blowout”–that crazy, spiky hair which is coiffed and shellacked to defy gravity. What you might not know is that just one season of “Jersey Shore”–the MTV show which has made him and his roommates famous–is enough to make him a millionaire.

In a lawsuit filed by his former talent agency this week, it’s stated that he owes International Creative Management $370,000 in back commission for the past two seasons he spent on the show, plus a cut of next season’s take. They also released the information that he is set to earn $150,000 per episode for the upcoming season…and there are 12 episodes planned. That puts his paycheck at a cool $2.1 million.

Although the reality star cut ties with the agency in 2011 in favor of another talent agency, ICM claims that it is standard practice to receive commission on any deal they make on behalf of a client even after the business relationship is severed.

Pauly D’s attorney Garvey Schubert Barer says that isn’t the case, however, and that they will contest the suit. Given that Pauly D has his own spinoff show on MTV, “The Pauly D Project”, and a mega-successful DJ business, he won’t be hurting for cash anytime soon. But a lawsuit like this could damage his reputation.

“We are surprised by ICM’s contention that it is due commissions after ICM was terminated in favor of William Morris Endeavor. ICM was paid for its services. It is even more disappointing that an agency like ICM would choose to take advantage of its former relationship with a client and disclose his confidential business affairs to the public in disregard of any duties it owes as a talent agency,” the lawyer said.
