Paula Patton, Robin Thicke: Divorce is Final

  • Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are no longer married. Their divorce was granted on St. Patrick’s Day, according to a report from People magazine. The divorce papers state, however, that their marriage will be deemed officially over on April 14th.

Paula Patton married the ‘Blurred Lines’ singer back in 2005. They met when they were both teenagers. They issued a statement back in February of 2014 after they separated.

“We will always love each other and be best friends. However, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” they told People magazine at the time.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are parents to a four-year-old son named Julian. Paula recently said during an interview that Julian is the reason she was able to move forward with her life.

“I mean, the honest truth is, it has been challenging. But it’s been a year of growth … learning about all new things,” she told Good Morning America. “The thing is, you can’t wallow in sadness or stay in bed when you have a child. And they’re so full of life and wonder. And he brings me so much joy.”

Robin Thicke recently made headlines when he and Pharrell Williams were found guilty in court of copying Marvin Gaye’s music in their hit song ‘Blurred Lines.’ The two were ordered by a judge to pay Marvin Gaye’s family $7.3 million.

March isn’t turning out to be a great month for Robin Thicke. In addition to the hefty fine he now shares with Pharrell Williams, he legally no longer shares a marriage with Paula Patton. He did everything he could think of to win her back–even writing a song in which he practically begged her to do so–all at no avail.

Hopefully Paula Patton and Robin Thicke can remain friendly for the sake of their little boy.
