Patirica Arquette, star of Boyhood and the upcoming TV show CSI: Cyber, has voiced her support for Bruce Jenner, and his reported upcoming transition from a man to a woman. Arquette has some firsthand knowledge of what Jenner is going through. Her sister, Alexis Arquette, is a transgender female.

“It’s time for us all to stand up and support her in this transition if this is what she wants to do and it’s very powerful to live your life in your truth and it’s very difficult in this world to do that,” she said during an interview with Access Hollywood on Saturday night at the Writers Guild Awards in Los Angeles. “It doesn’t hurt anybody, so I don’t know why anyone would be offended or write about it offensively or as if it’s comedic or anything else. It’s a very difficult decision to come to because the world doesn’t support it, so I’m here to say I do support it and I think we should all be able to be who we really are.”

Patricia Arquette continued with some words aimed at society, with regard to acceptance of people like Bruce Jenner and her sister.

“My advice is for everybody else to let’s not live on the dark side of history right now. This is an important moment,” she said. “A lot of kids commit suicide over these issues [and] are bullied. I don’t think there’s been one murder of a transgender person that’s ever been solved.”

Of course nothing is yet confirmed about Bruce Jenner and his transition, however media outlets have reported that a docu-drama is in the works with E! about his transition. It is confirmed that Diane Sawyer has landed an exclusive interview with Bruce Jenner about whatever is going on with regard to his sexuality. That was recently put off a bit in light of the recent fatal car crash the Keeping Up With the Kardashians patriarch was involved in. However it is still on track to air on TV in May.

Kudos to Patricia Arquette for supporting not only Bruce Jenner, but anyone experiencing issues with their sexual identity. Hopefully her message is heard loudly and clearly by all.

Will you be checking out the new TV show starring Patricia Arquette? CSI: Cyber premieres on CBS on March 4th.
