The pastor’s wife who was shot to death earlier this month in their Indianapolis home was sexually assaulted before she was murdered. This adds an even more disturbing detail to the death of Amanda Blackburn.
No arrests have yet been made in this case, but investigators say there was evidence left behind.

Twelve weeks pregnant at the time of the sexual assault and shooting, the pastor’s wife died the next day in the hospital. Davey Blackburn discovered his wife, unconscious and bleeding, when he arrived home on the day of the home invasion.
Authorities believe the attack was a random one, and they are using available surveillance tapes to track down whomever killed the 28-year-old.
On Saturday, two people were arrested on unrelated charges after they were questioned about the death of the pastor’s wife. Neither is being held in conjunction with the Amanda Blackburn case, however.

Davey Blackburn is confident investigators will soon determine who killed his wife and unborn child. He was quickly ruled out by police as having any involvement in the heinous crime.
“They’ve assured us that they have the full breadth of resources at their availability. They’ve assured me that they’ve never seen this kind of a blank check that they’ve been given to be able to further the investigation,” Davey Blackburn said. “So we’re really confident and hopeful that very soon, some of these promising leads that they have will turn into being able to find the person or the people who are responsible for this.”
