Police recently confirmed that a pair of New York teenagers, along with the child’s grandfather, have been arrested and charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child after they forced a 23-month-old to smoke marijuana.
The Chautauqua County sheriff’s office informed the media that 17-year-old Jessica Kelsey, 18-year-old George Kelsey and Jessica’s 54-year-old father, Don Baker, were taken into custody after they helped, watched, and encouraged the toddler smoke pot from a lighted bowl on December 5. They are currently being held on either $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
The toddler and another sibling are now under the care of Child Protective Services. More information will be revealed as it becomes available.
