  • Nick Stevenson, who plays Pete Harper on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, will be back for the show’s second season. In case you’re having trouble placing him on the show, he’s the Australian husband of Piper’s best friend (at least in the outside world) Polly Harper.

Author Kobsupang Robertson posted an interview with Stevenson. When asked if we’ll see more him in Season 2, he responded, “Yes, I’ve been told to grow a beard in season 2. I’m not sure how many episodes I’ll be in. I hope I’m coming back. Otherwise—”

While it’s not necessarily an indication of what will actually happen, he also said he’d like to see his character go to the prison to see Piper with his wife.

Anything’s possible. The season is still being developed, according to Netflix, and if rumors of Laura Prepon leaving the show are true, then there will be plenty of room for the further expansion of other characters. We already know that will be happening with Pennsatucky, Crazy Eyes and Taystee, due to the actresses who play these characters getting promoted to series regulars.

At least one other cast member has also been added. News recently came out that the show has added Lorraine Toussaint, who will play a character named Vee, who according to Deadline, is described as “a longtime street tough who ran her own drug business, recruiting children to serve as runners.”

And Pete’s won’t be the only facial hair we’ll be seeing.

Season 2 began filming last month, and is due out next year. The first season will be coming to DVD, though a date has yet to be announced.
