Oracle’s NetSuite is the latest company to impose return-to-office mandates, saying employees must return by June 1.
As things return to normal post-pandemic, companies have become increasingly less lenient about remote work, even companies that came out strongly in favor early on. NetSuite now joins their ranks.
According to a slide presentation seen by Bloomberg, employees within a 45-minute commute of the company’s offices must come in at least twice a week. Senior VP David Rodman says the criteria covers most of the company’s employees.
Return-to-office mandates have been driven, in part, by deteriorating economic conditions, with companies look for any and all ways to reduce cost and improve efficiency. The good news for NetSuite employees is that they will still be able to work remotely three days a week.
