Olivia Munn has joined the cast of X-Men: Apocalypse and will play telepathic mutant Psylocke.

The announcement came Monday from Producer/Director Bryan Singer, who announced the news on his Twitter page.

“Excited to welcome @oliviamunn as Betsy Braddock! #Psylocke #XmenApocalypse #XMEN,” he wrote,” linking to a photo of the actress he posted on his Instagram page.

According to CNN, Olivia Munn will play Betsy Braddock, a.k.a. Psylocke, created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe for the British Captain Britain series. She was a mainstay throughout the 1970 and 80s in the comic book series before joining the X-Men series in 1987’s Uncanny X-Men No. 213.

Psylocke has had some dramatic changes over the years, and it should be fun to see how Bryan Singer and Olivia Munn mold the character for this appearance.

Olivia Munn, 34, thanked her fans for their support in her own Tweet.

“From G4 to XMEN you’ve been THE BEST road dogs. Thanks for staying on the ride with me. This one’s for you,” she wrote.

Olivia Munn should find dressing up as Psylocke easy enough, since she has been snapped before dressed as Street Fighter‘s Chun Li.

However, Olivia may struggle with the physical challenge of playing Psylocke, who is an expert martial arts fighter.

Olivia Munn joins other X-Men: Apocalypse cast members James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Lana Condor, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp and Tye Sheridan.

X-Men: Apocalypse is due out May 27, 2016.
