Nikki Reed is the new wife of Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder, and during a couple of recent interviews she dished on her new husband–as well as on becoming a mother.

While chatting with People magazine at Maybelline New York’s centennial anniversary party in New York on Thursday, Nikki Reed gushed about her love for Ian.

“I love him more every second, I don’t know what to say,” she said.

Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed tied the knot on April 26th in a ceremony at Topanga Canyon in Malibu, California. In addition to wedded bliss, the couple will be enjoying a business relationship, too. Ian and Nikki just started their own production company together, called Rare Birds.

“Oh, it’s so fabulous. We’re both insanely creative people, and I’ve never been more inspired by a human being in my life,” Nikki Reed said, adding that she’s written a film she hopes to direct one day soon.

Now that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed are husband and wife, the next natural step is to start a family–right? Is that something he and the Twilight star plan to do any time soon?

The subject came up during an interview with E! News at the same Maybelline event.

So what is Nikki Reed’s take on impending motherhood? Does she want to be a mom?

“At some point, yes,” she said, going on to talk about the great love she has for her own mom.

“My mom’s the strongest, boldest woman I know,” she said. “She is my role model in every way. It’s really a beautiful thing to sort of idolize someone so close to you.”

It sounds like Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder will enjoy being newlyweds and business partners for now. They have plenty of time to have children. She is actually celebrating her 27th birthday today–May 17th. So she has plenty of years before she needs to seriously consider motherhood. For now they should simply enjoy one another.
