Nicole Scherzinger announced her desire to focus on her music career in February after leaving X-Factor UK, saying she was heartbroken about leaving the talent competition. However, the former Pussycat Doll has just joined the cast of Cats and says she is thrilled to be a part of the production.
“I am really thrilled to be making my West End debut in such an iconic show. I grew up listening to Andrew’s extraordinary music and was lucky enough, a couple of years ago, to record Cats’ beautiful song Memory. Andrew’s score is breathtaking and I am truly honored to have been asked to take part in what I know will be a very special time in my career. I can’t wait to begin rehearsals,” she said, according to BBC.
Scherzinger spoke with The Daily Mail about her upcoming album and offered some insight into the title–Big Fat Lie–which is taken from one of the songs.
“We all go through our own battles and hard times and a big fat lie is about how we mask what’s really going on. This album is about me revealing some of my personal struggles and facing them head on. Once you realize something is a lie you are on your way to the truth, where you will find your own clarity, peace and acceptance,” she said.
The album will be released in October, but the star won’t have long to promote it; Cats will begin a 12-week run in December.
