Nicole Kidman did an interview with Australian magazine Who recently in which she opened up about her marriage to Tom Cruise--which is rare--and spoke about her involvement with Cruise's divorce from Katie Holmes.
"I got married really fast and really young," Kidman, who was 23 when she married Cruise, said. "But I don’t regret that because it got me Bella and Connor, and I did have a fantastic marriage for a long period. Then when it didn't work out, I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression, but I have no regrets about all of it. It was all a part of growing up.”
Kidman says she battled a lengthy depression during her marriage because of her inability to become pregnant; she and Cruise ended up adopting their two children, Isabella and Connor. She now has two children with husband Keith Urban.
“There was a long time when I never thought it would happen for me again - and it happened! I never, ever take Keith or our love for granted and I always keep in my mind that my dream is to grow very old with him.”
As for the rumors about her counseling Katie Holmes through her very public divorce from Kidman's ex, the actress says she never played a role despite the efforts of the American media to paint the two of them as close.
“I never spoke to her,” she said. “I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that.”
