Nicky Hilton celebrated #FlashbackFriday with a look back to her engagement day–just a few weeks ago in early August. She said, ‘yes’ to banker James Rothschild in Italy’s Lake Como after he proposed to her on bended knee during a romantic boat ride.

For #FlashbackFriday Nicky shared an Instagram photo that most women would die to be a part of. It not only shows off her gorgeous engagement ring, but highlights the Eiffel Tower in the background. Does an engagement vacation get any better than that?

Nicky Hilton captioned the post, “#engagementmoon in Paris #FlashbackFriday.”

The 30-year-old hotel heiress and sister of Paris Hilton now proudly wears her princess cut diamond ring that is set in gold and flanked by a diamond on each side of the sizable middle stone.

James Rothschild is an heir as well. His money hails from family members within the English-based banking world. He made a special trip to the U.S. that was completely unbeknownst to Nicky Hilton, to ask her parents for their daughter’s hand in marriage. From the look of that Instagram shot, he treated that hand quite nicely, too.

A rep for Nicky Hilton spoke to People magazine about the engagement.

“They are both very happy,” the rep said.

In addition to making news for #FlashbackFriday, Nicky Hilton also graced the media recently for the launch of her new book. She wrote 365 Style with Allie Kingsley. It features ‘fun stories of her trips to Greece and South Africa, tips including ways to avoid draining your date’s finances and an insider’s guide of her favorite vintage shops (The Way We Wore, Shabon, Fisch for the Hip and Ina). She also lists her must-haves, such as gladiator sandals and a classic fedora.’

Nicky’s appearance on the book’s cover is a bit understated, but nonetheless elegant. She is, of course, the less flashy of the two Hilton sisters.
