There seems to be a misunderstanding. While Nicki Minaj has not been known to be best friends with Mariah Carey, Nicki is not the main, underlying force behind Carey’s “Satan” comment on radio station, Hot 97.

Nick Cannon, Carey’s husband, explained the comment to Access Hollywood Live, “I don’t think [her reference to ‘Satan’] was about the people on the panel. It’s about when someone tells you something and paints a picture one way, and then that’s not the case. If she’s used to being treated a certain way and then you have a network that says, ‘No, we’re gonna do this,’ then…”

Mariah Carey did not hold back when discussing her experience on the show with the radio station.

“Honestly, I hated it. Honestly, I thought it was going to be a three-person panel. They gave me a nice dangling monetary moment and I was like, ‘OK … Randy Jackson will be there’ — you know he used to play bass for me — ‘This isn’t a big deal, this will be nothing,’ but it wasn’t that. It was like hell going to work every day in hell with Satan. I’m just playing; it didn’t affect me that much. I was disappointed.”

Many suspected that Carey’s comment was never intended as a specific target to Nicki Minaj even though rumors of hostility have followed the two famous singers.

Mariah Carey’s recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon and her newest release for The Art of Letting Go are any indication of how the singer feels, then it may be time to leave the feud in the past.
