Several towns in New Jersey experienced a small-magnitude earthquake early this morning, causing panic in an area still trying to clean up in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
The tremblor measured around a 2.0 on the Richter scale and struck the towns of Ringwood, Mahwah, Wanaque, Oakland, Franklin Lakes, West Milford and Paterson. Although it originated around three miles underground and no damage has been reported, already-jumpy residents in the affected areas are concerned that this is a preamble to something bigger…especially considering a nor’easter is predicted to hit later this week.
