Sony Entertainment Network today announced the debut of the Music Unlimited service on the PlayStation Vita. With a global library of 15 million licensed songs from all of the major labels, leading independent labels, and major publishers worldwide, the Music Unlimited service offers users convenient access to the entire music catalog and millions of other tracks on a wide range of mobile and in-home devices, anytime they want it.
New to the service and featured on the PS Vita system, users can cache playlists and channels letting them listen to music even when a 3G or Wi-Fi connection isn’t available, or when they want to conserve battery life or curb data usage. Additionally, the device’s vibrant five-inch, high definition OLED touch screen makes it easy to navigate menus and search for music with the tap or swipe of a finger.
“PS Vita’s incredible processing power and media capabilities enabled us to offer a powerful mobile listening entertainment experience to consumers, giving them access to the music they want wherever they are,” said Tim Schaaff, President of Sony Network Entertainment. “Adding PS Vita to Sony Entertainment Network’s ecosystem gives users another choice of where and how to access their games, music and video, offering a truly personalized entertainment experience.”
