The hugely successful comedy “Modern Family” could be heading into even more troubles as several of the show’s stars filed suit today against 20th Television, and many are wondering if this will seal the fate of the show.
The actors have already been in drawn-out negotiations regarding salaries, which has delayed the start of the show’s fourth season; now, they are pushing for a court date for the suit, which would void their contracts. Apparently, in California a person can only be under contract for “personal services” for seven years, and to continue with their current contracts would be in violation of that law. It seems the actors are hoping to use the suit as leverage to raise their salaries and get better contract terms. Those involved include Ty Burrell, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara.
No word yet on how this will affect shooting, but fans are understandably upset that their favorite show may not be able to move forward, and some are just irate.
Poor Modern Family stars, not being given more than $150,000 per episode. Let me take a moment to not give any f-cks about your negotiations
Modern Family cast boycotting work because they want to get paid more than $150,000 per episode. It’s happening.
Oh no!
