Pennsylvania Democrat Arlen Spencer shocked viewers and panelists alike yesterday on MSNBC’s Morning Joe when he compared Republican candidate Mitt Romney to a “pornographic movie queen” because he changes his position so often.

The comparison, which was actually paraphrased from a joke made by Bill Maher recently, came after Spencer was asked what he thought the future held for the Republican party.

“Well, the Republican party has moved so far to the right, you can’t recognize Mitt Romney. What Mitt Romney will appear in October?” said Specter.

The joke was made after a gaffe made by Romney’s campaign adviser Eric Fehrnstrom, in which he compared the fall campaign to an Etch-A-Sketch on CNN.

“I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign,” said Fehrnstrom. “Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again.”

That comparison drew a lot of heat from Democrats, who already view Romney as a candidate with no core values, who changes his stance on the issues according to what will draw in more voters.

While the people at MSNBC reacted to Spencer’s comment rather awkwardly, Twitter users seem to find it amusing.
