Misty Upham, the actress best-known for her roles in August: Osage County and Django Unchained, died of blunt-force injuries to her head and torso, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, in Seattle, said Wednesday.
The medical examiner made his final determination of the cause of her Oct. 5 death, but the manner of her death is still unclear.
Back in October, the 32-year-old Native American actress was found dead by family and friends 11 days after she died in a ravine in the Seattle suburb of Auburn. On the day of her death, her family told police she was suicidal, and she was reported missing the following day.
Authorities say they believe the trauma was caused by a fall, adding that there is no indication of foul play. However, without witnesses, they don’t know exactly what happened that day.
Upham’s father has said he doesn’t believe she committed suicide.

Her family also said they believe her death was accidental. They allege that she ran into the wooded area to get away from police.

After her death, her family alleged that police did not take her disappearance seriously and mistreated her. The Auburn Police Department have refuted those claims.
