Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were a country couple that made their fans smile. Many of those smiles have turned to frowns today with the announcement that the country sweetheart and The Voice coach are through.

Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert issued a joint statement on Monday.

“This is not the future we envisioned,” the statement reads. “And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

This isn’t just a huge disappointment for those who followed their love story, but also for those who loved the music collaborations Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton are known for.

Back in December, in an interview with Marie Claire, Miranda Lambert said she wasn’t the easiest person to get along with.

“I’m not sunshine and roses. Blake’s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness… Literally, everything is the best about being married.”

Sadly that marriage has come to an end. No details have been shared on whether the ‘Little Red Wagon’ singer or Blake Shelton has filed for divorce.
