Mira Sorvino To Guest Star On TNT’s “Falling Skies”

The TNT sci-fi drama Falling Skies always receives great guest actors to either play aliens or in the resistance group called “The Second Massachusetts”; however, the show (directed by Stephen Spielberg) will be acquiring a jewel of an actress when Mira Sorvino guest stars as “Sara.” (Source: TV Guide)

Mira Sorvino, from New York, is a well-known Golden Globe and Academy Award-winning actress, known for her vibrant roles in Mighty Aphrodite by Woody Allen, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Mimic, The Final Cut, and Angel’s Crest. She is also the daughter of Paul Sorvino, known for his roles in The Rocketeer, Romeo and Juliet (Baz Luhrmann), and For The Love of Money. (Source: IMDb).

According to The New York Post, the background behind Sorvino’s character Sara is “a woman far removed from her former life as a graphic designer. She is dogged by death at every turn, yet she has never felt more alive, free or fearless.” Sara’s entrance to the show will be when she meets John Pope (played by Colin Cunningham), a rebellious guerrilla warrior of “The Second Massachusetts.” Viewers will expect to see a strong relationship grow between Pope and Sara.

The upcoming fourth season of Falling Skies is still in production, and currently at the storyline where Sorvino’s character Sara enters the season’s storyline. Today (Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013), Sorvino tweeted that she absolutely loves working on the show.
