Michael Strahan is spreading his TV hosting wings. In addition to co-hosting Live! With Kelly and Michael alongside Kelly Ripa, he will soon be hosting a game show, too. A reboot of The $100,000 Pyramid is set to air this summer, and ABC has ordered 10 episodes.

The late Dick Clark hosted the original version of the game show, which first aired in 1973 on CBS. It moved to ABC the following year. Since then different versions have aired on cable and in syndication, but this upcoming version marks the first time it will appear as a regular prime time series.
Something weighing heavily on ABC’s decision to order the show is the success of Steve Harvey’s Celebrity Family Feud that aired during last summer’s prime time lineup. Michael Strahan has a similar appeal as Harvey. But will the show be as much fun?

The $100,000 Pyramid pairs a celebrity and an average person against another celebrity and another average person, according to Entertainment Weekly. These pairs compete in playing a word association game, with Michael Strahan interjecting his own brand of humor in his role as host.
