Platinum Games today announced that a demo for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. To celebrate the announcement, the developer has released a seven-minute trailer for the title, edited by Hideo Kojima himself.

The trailer features both cut-scenes and actual gameplay, so it should be a fairly good look at what the game is about. Sure, the dialogue’s kind of cheesy, but no worse than most Japanese games localized for the English language. What’s most striking about the video is the amount of body parts flying around. Raiden not only get the job done, but he takes the time to mince up guards and giant mechs into tiny, bloody pieces.

After the good reviews Capcom’s Devil May Cry (DmC) reboot received, it seems that the hack n’ slash genre may currently be in vogue. And judging by the trailer, there will certainly be a lot of slashing in Revengeance.
