You only have a few hours left if you want an opportunity to win the Mega Millions jackpot tonight. The winning ticket could snare you about $115 million, $66 million if you take the cash option. The drawing will take place on Friday, August 8 at 11 pm EST.
The reason why the jackpot is so high is because no one has won for 11 drawings in a row. In order to take home the big money, a player must match all five numbers and the Mega Ball number. The numbers for Tuesday’s drawing were: 25, 28, 36, 45, and 53. The Mega Ball number was 6.
Even though no one took home the monster cash on Tuesday, four lucky players won the $1 million second prize by matching all the white Mega Million balls but not the gold Mega Ball. Additionally, 33 players won the Match 4 + 1 game to take home $5,000 each. In order to win the Match 4 + 1 game, a player must match four out of the five white Mega Million winning numbers and the gold Mega Ball number.

We’ve already seen some huge jackpots this year. There was a whopping $400 million jackpot in March, which was the sixth largest prize in lottery history.
If you are feeling lucky, the Mega Millions lottery is still just a dollar and a dream. The chances of taking home the jackpot are about 1 in 258,890,850 million. But people obviously do win all the time!
The Mega Millions drawing takes place every Tuesday and Friday at 11 pm EST.
