Update: McAfee’s blog has now been updated, but still not much info:
Several news agencies are reporting that John McAfee has been taken to a Guatemala City hospital after suffering a possible heart attack.
We have no news on his status at this time.
Reports are coming out that John McAfee may have suffered a heart attack today, while being detained in Guatemala, after complaining of chest pains.
There is no mention of this on his blog, which has been frequently updated (by his friend Chad Essley, in addition to McAfee), but ABC News is reporting that ambulances showed up at the detention center, then took him to the hospital in Guatemala City:
McAfee, 67 — who may soon be deported back to Belize, where authorities want to question him about the shooting death of his neighbor — was reportedly prostrate on the floor of his cell and unresponsive. He was wheeled into the hospital on a gurney, but when nurses began removing his suit, he became responsive and said, “Please, not in front of the press.”
ABC’s Matt Gutman has been tweeting some images from the scene:

ABC also reports that he was scheduled to be deported back to Belize this morning, though a judge may issue a stay “if determined that McAfee’s life is threatened by being in Belizian custody.”
McAfee has maintained that he would be in danger in Beilzian custody, which is why he made his way to Guatemala before coming out from hiding.
Earlier, we reported that McAfee has called on his supporters to write emails to the President of Guatemala, “beg him to allow the court system to proceed, to determine my status in Guatemala, , and please support the political asylum that I am asking for.”
I suspect we’ll be hearing something about this possible heart attack situation on the blog in the near future. Stay tuned.
