Mariska Hargitay appears in Taylor Swift's new music video 'Bad Blood,' that premiered at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. During a visit earlier this week on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the Law & Order: SVU star dished about how being in that music video makes her feel.

“It’s just so awesome and it makes me feel super badass,” Hargitay said. “I feel like my cool-factor went up with the kids and I’m really grateful, Taylor.”

Mariska Hargitay and Taylor Swift have an interesting history.

Swift named one of her cats Olivia Benson, after Mariska Hargitay’s character on Law & Order: SVU. Since meeting in person about a year back, the two have become great friends.

Mariska Hargitay starred in ‘Bad Blood’ as the character Justice with another TV ‘badass,’ Ellen Pompeo from Grey’s Anatomy, by her side. Pompeo also has a feline connection to Taylor Swift. Taylor’s other cat is named Meredith Grey after Pompeo’s Grey’s Anatomy character. Swift has been a longtime fan of both actress’s shows.

Hargitay explained to Seth Meyers how she and Taylor Swift became friends.

"I met her at the Met Gala and I was so uncool,” Mariska Hargitay explained. “She’s down there and she’s like, ‘Hi, I like your show.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, thanks.’ I didn’t know that she was like, the second coming. She was so sweet and I was like, ‘Oh, she’s so sweet,’ and I met her and was super flattered.”

They met again at an Ingrid Michaelson concert in New York.

“We both are big fans of Ingrid Michaelson and we were together at an Ingrid Michaelson concert–who’s also a friend of ours,” Hargitay explained. “We met, and she was again, so unbelievably lovely. Of course I didn’t have a ride home, but it was somewhere so far out in Queens. All of a sudden, my husband and I are like, ‘How are we getting home?’ cause there were no cars or anything.”

“She was like a little angel that goes, ‘Oh, do you guys need a ride?'” Hargitay continued. “I was like, ‘Oh no, why?’ And then she drove us home and that was the end of it… I got the text going, ‘Wanna be in my video?’ I was like, ‘Lemme check my calendar!'”

Don't expect Mariska Hargitay to leave Law & Order: SVU any time soon to pursue a music career. Did you see the Law & Order: SVU finale on Wednesday night?

Spoiler alert!

Olivia Benson was finally able to adopt her little boy, Noah.

Fans don't want to give Olivia Benson up--even for a "super badass" music video star.
