Mariska Hargitay is having a ball keeping up with the kids. The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress spoke with Seth Meyers on his show Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday about her recent appearance in the music video for Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” single.

Mariska Hargitay joined Kendrick Lamar, Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne, Lena Dunham, Cindy Crawford, and others in the taylor Swift video that blended action and special effects reminiscent of The Matrix, Tron, Kill Bill, and other action movies.

When Seth Meyers brought up Mariska Hargitay’s appearance in the video, the actress enthused, “It’s just so awesome, and it makes me feel super-badass!”

She told Meyers that her appearance in the video came about after she met Taylor Swift at the much-ballyhooed Met Gala event

“I met her at the Met Gala and I was so uncool,” Hargitay said, “She’s down there and she’s like, ‘Hi, I like your show.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, thanks.’ I didn’t know that she was like, the second coming. She was so sweet and I was like, ‘Oh, she’s so sweet,’ and I met her and was super flattered.”

Mariska Hargitay explained that she later ran into Swift again at a concert, where they had a chance to talk more, especially when Taylor Swift gave the stranded star a ride home.

“We both are big fans of Ingrid Michaelson and we were together at an Ingrid Michaelson concert — who’s also a friend of ours,” Hargitay said. “We met, and she was again, so unbelievably lovely. Of course I didn’t have a ride home, but it was somewhere so far out in Queens. All of a sudden, my husband and I are like, ‘How are we getting home?’ ’cause there were no cars or anything.”

“She was like a little angel that goes, ‘Oh, do you guys need a ride?'” Hargitay laughed. “I was like, ‘Oh no, why?’ And then she drove us home and that was the end of it… I got the text going, ‘Wanna be in my video?’ I was like, ‘Lemme check my calendar!'”

Swift’s video has garnered loads of attention due to the lineup of stars she roped into being in the thing.
