Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have been dodging rumors for several months now that they’re separated, but Cannon confirmed it today during an appearance on Good Morning America.

Cannon says that the couple’s main focus is on their two children, especially now that the holidays are coming up.

“Always focus on family. We’ll forever be family. At the same time, we’re there for our children, making them the No. 1 priority and understanding they’re loved and can have an amazing holiday,” Cannon said.

Carey was in headlines recently when she showed up late to her performance at Rockefeller Center last week and then seemed to be having voice difficulties. According to a source at People Magazine, the star was late because she was meeting with divorce attorneys.

Cannon was on the talk show this week to promote his new book, Roc And Roe’s 12 Days Of Christmas, which is based on his children with Carey.

“They’re full of so much personality I was inspired to write this book. Each and every day with them is crazy,” he said.
