Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are definitely raising eyebrows now.
Rumors have been circulating about their marriage being on the rocks for several months. Now, their latest decision has many people wondering if the divorce rumors are true.
According to Contact Music, the Cannons have sold their sprawling, three-acre Bel Air mansion for more than $10 million. The couple reportedly purchased the home back in 2009 for $7 million.
Although the couple profited $3 million from the sale of their home, that hasn’t stopped the looming divorce rumors. It’s actually made things worse. Several media outlets have reported that the couple didn’t even celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary together.
It’s also been quite some time since the two have been together publicly. Just last week, the 44-year-old singer attended the theatrical premiere for Hercules without her husband. As a matter of fact, she was escorted by Def Jam Recordings president Kevin Liles.
An insider also spoke with OK! Magazine about the couple’s alleged marital problems. The insider reportedly revealed the Grammy Award-winning singer has been contemplating divorce for quite some time. However, there’s one big reason why she hasn’t filed.
“Mariah’d cut him loose right now. But she’s worried about him making a grab for a huge chunk of her $515 million fortune,” a source revealed.
“Nick feels burned that Mariah is ready to pull the plug. They have a pre-nup, but after Nick tells his side of the story Mariah will most likely settle with him financially and realize her once-beautiful marriage has evaporated.”
The publication also insists their marriage has dwindled due to Cannon’s alleged infidelity. It’s been rumored that she’s been involved in “massive fights over Nick’s sex romps with other women.” The Charmbracelet singer is reportedly fed up with her husband.
