Over the past month, judges seem to have been fleeing quickly from Fox karaoke competition American Idol. Singer Nicki Minaj announced recently that she will not return to the judges’ table for the 13th season of the hit network TV show, and in early May long-time judge Randy Jackson also left the show behind. Meanwhile, Australian Idol judge Keith Urban has said that he doesn’t yet know whether he will be returning to the show.
Now, a fourth American Idol judge has spoken out, and she’s running from the show too. Mariah Carey this week retweeted an announcement from her publicist, stating that she is saying goodbye to Idol. Instead, Carey will be preparing to launch a world concert tour based on the success of her new single “Beautiful,” which was released just this month.
