  • Lindsay Lohan sat down with Oprah Winfrey recently to candidly discuss her past, which includes multiple arrests, forays into drug and alcohol use, and a string of headlines involving her family.

The 27-year old actress is earning praise today for her “self-awareness” during the interview, during which she remained calm and in possession of her composure. Lohan talked about her cocaine use, how she’s battled a problem with alcohol, and the fact that she doesn’t blame her parents for anything that’s happened.

“Nobody’s perfect. I love my family….I don’t think anything was intentionally done … they’re just parents,” Lohan said. “I don’t blame anyone for my mistakes. I did that, and I’m not proud of it.”

The troubled actress also talked about getting off of adderall, something she’s taken for years to curb her ADD and that she feels calmer without it. After completing a mandatory 90-day stint in rehab, she says she’s hired a “sober coach” to help her stay focused on the long road ahead and is eager to prove to herself–and everyone else–that she can stay clean.

Lohan’s latest movie, “The Canyons” has gotten mixed reviews from critics but is earning her praise from the director and from many of those who have seen it as her grittiest work yet.
