Lindsay Lohan is up for a role in a pretty controversial movie, and some say the part is just right for the girl who is always making headlines with her wild behavior and off-screen drama.
Coming right after a wardrobe malfunction on the set of the Lifetime movie “Liz And Dick”–in which the actress plays Elizabeth Taylor–and an accident with a semi in which her Porsche was totaled, the news that she might be working opposite porn star James Deen in the new film “The Canyons” seems relatively tame in comparison. But some wonder if she’s ready for the job, especially since she’s rumored to be difficult to work with on set and has already caused setbacks with the Lifetime movie.
The people behind the film are aware of her reputation, however, and say they definitely want her in the role if she’s up for it. The producer, Braxton Pope, says Lindsay is someone whose fame can get in the way at times.
“Lindsay is incredibly charismatic in person, but unfortunately she is someone whose publicity can overwhelm the most essential fact that she’s enormously talented,” he said. “There’s no question that we all want her in this role and we all want her to succeed.”
Rumors are swirling that the people in charge have already met with Lindsay and have given her strict terms should she accept the role, including being on time every day and not doing anything that could delay production, as they have a limited budget and schedule.
The film, based on the work of Bret Easton Ellis (“American Psycho”), is directed by Paul Schrader, whose credits include “Raging Bull” and “Taxi Driver”. Shooting is due to begin July 9th; Ellis tweeted about Lohan’s audition and seems optimistic that she is the right choice.
