For the past year or so, developers and publishers have been pushing more console-like experiences to the mobile realm. Square Enix recently released the ambitious Deus Ex: The Fall and Firaxis actually managed to put the entirety of XCOM: Enemy Unknown onto mobile platforms.

Now, Warner Bros. has jumped into mobile. The publisher today released LEGO The Lord of the Rings on iOS platforms. The game was originally released one year ago for consoles and PC.

Though the LEGO games have all been designed with video game controllers in mind, Warner Bros. has included two different control schemes in the iOS version of the game. One is the “Classic” control scheme that mimics the console versions and the other is a “Touch Screen” scheme designed specifically for the mobile version.

It appears that TT Games has managed to port the full LEGO Lord of the Rings experience onto an iPhone. If the move is successful, mobile gamers can probably look forward to games such as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes in the near future.

LEGO Lord of the Rings is available now in the Apple App Store for $5. It can be played on modern iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch devices.
