  • Lea Thompson has been a part of several iconic movies over the years, but one of her favorites is about to turn 30 years old, so she sat down to talk about it with Us Weekly and revealed some of her favorite memories.

Thompson said that of the three Back To The Future films, the first one will always be her favorite. She also talked about seeing it for the first time with then-fiance Dennis Quaid and said that seeing the audience reaction was wonderful.

“My favorite memory of Back to the Future actually is seeing it! I was engaged to Dennis Quaid at the time and the movie had been out for like two months and we went to the Cinerama Dome. They gave me a free parking spot and it was completely full and we stood in the back and watched the whole movie. People were just ecstatic! I was like, ‘Oh my gosh…this is spectacular!’ As a movie actor you never get that kind of feedback,” she said.

The actress, who was recently eliminated from Dancing With The Stars–where she revisited BTTF during a performance–said that one of the perks of being finished with the show was being able to eat again.

“I just ate everything. It wasn’t like I was trying not to eat. It was just so nerve-wrecking I couldn’t eat. I was so scared – and you don’t get a day off for two and a half months!” she said.

Thompson’s “Movie Night” performance on the competition was a fan favorite, as she and Artem Chigvintsev arrived in style in a DeLorean and then danced to a rendition of Huey Lewis’ hit “The Power Of Love”. The crowd went wild as soon as they saw the iconic car, although she says the show was the first time she ever got to get inside it.

“Only on Dancing with the Stars! I got to drive the DeLorean here. Finally!”
